This type of writing is about recounting personal experiences, often using first-person perspective and vivid descriptions to immerse the reader in the story. It aims to convey the emotions, thoughts, and lessons learned from the experience, providing insight into the author's life and perspective. Through storytelling, personal narrative writing connects with readers on a deeper level, fostering empathy, understanding, and shared human experience

Expository Writing

When people experienced something more extraordinary share their lessons. It always starts off with a personal narrative and then leads to what they learned about society. This is a creative way for students to write personal narrative as a form of reflection. Students will be encouraged to explore what they learn through a personal story in the form of a script.

Informative "How to" Writing (Senior)

The writer aims to educate or inform the reader about a specific topic, concept, or issue. It presents factual information in a clear, concise, and organized manner, often using evidence, examples, and explanations to support key points. The primary goal of informative writing is to enhance the reader's understanding of the subject matter without persuading or entertaining them.

Argumentative Writing (Senior)

Argumentative writing presents a viewpoint on a controversial topic and seeks to persuade the reader to agree with the author's position. It includes thorough research, logical reasoning, and the use of evidence to support claims while acknowledging counterarguments and addressing them effectively. The ultimate goal of argumentative writing is to convince the audience of the validity and strength of the author's perspective.

Podcasting (Senior)

Podcasting is a type of writing that involves scripting or outlining the content for a podcast episode, including dialogue, narration, and any other audio elements. It requires consideration of the target audience, engaging storytelling techniques, and clear communication of ideas to ensure listener engagement. The goal of podcasting writing is to create compelling audio content that informs, entertains, or inspires the audience while maintaining a cohesive structure and flow.

Creative Writing (Senior)

Students will work on their own individual work. Teachers will help with generating ideas, organizing thoughts, and composing text autonomously, often reflecting the individual's unique perspective and style. Whether it's journaling, crafting essays, or producing creative pieces, independent writing allows individuals to express themselves freely and develop their writing skills.
